  • Radioactive liquid waste treatment technology

This technology is designed to remove dissolved radionuclides from waste liquid generated during the operation and decommissioning of nuclear power plants. We focus on the treatment and volume reduction of liquid radioactive waste and the KRID is conducting various studies aimed at commercializing the technology through the assessment of its field applicability for the treatment and volume reduction of liquid radioactive waste.

  • Research Description

    • Localization of liquid radioactive waste evaporation drying technology
    • Development of solid/liquid separation technology for removal of particulate matters
    • Development of membrane filtering system for removal of both particulate and ionized matters
    • Development of underwater plasma system for removal of non-degradable substances in waste liquid
