  • Remote cutting technology for activated structures

Remote cutting technology is required to prevent radiation exposure to workers and to effectively dismantle activated structures during the decommissioning of nuclear facilities. The KRID is conducting various studies with the aim of the commercializing technology through an assessment of the field applicability of remote cutting technology for activated structures.

  • Research Description

    • Localization of high-power plasma cutting equipment and underwater cutting technology
    • Underwater/atmospheric cutting technology harnessing high-power laser
    • Development of integrated operation system for remote cutting of activated structures
    • Verification of extended reality (XR)-based decommissioning process and development of training system
